Habits in the home, lifestyle and the dog’s health are just some of the topics we’ll focus on in order to give a full evaluation of the training you’ll need. Any unwanted behaviours will be diagnosed at the same time. No training can take place without some form of consultation.

What do we offer?

1 on 1 Private Session (Any Age) - This is for anyone looking for help with their dog, whether you’re just getting started with training or have a dog with serious behavioural issues. Sessions are 1 hour long, and can be held at your home or in one of our training facilities (depending on availability).

Phase 1 Training Programmes

The VP Communication Programme (8+ Weeks Old) - This programme is designed to accomplish 2 goals:

• Build a communication system between you and your dog that functions in any environment at any time.

• Provide you with the education you need to raise a well-behaved dog.

  By the end of this programme you’ll be able to walk your dog on a loose lead, recall it around distractions, even put it into a ‘relaxed’ state of mind with a single verbal cue! All this will be taught with ‘play based’ methods, utilizing games such as the ‘treat chase game’ and the ‘steal my dog’ game. The programme is a total of 8 weeks long, with a 1 hour session each week for the first 7 weeks. The last session of the programme will be 90 minutes long and partly conducted in a public place, where we’ll take everything learned in the first 7 weeks of the programme and apply it in the ‘real world’. Certificates are awarded upon completion of the programme.

  PLEASE NOTE - This programme is usually taught in a class format, where we’ll group dogs based on their age into the following categories:

• 8 - 16 Weeks old

• 16+ Weeks old

The VP Reliable Recall Programme (16 Weeks+) - Our ‘reliable recall programme’ is designed to get your dog turning on a dime and sprinting towards you at the sound of a whistle, literally. The only tools we’ll be using is a whistle, a flat buckle collar, some treats and either a long line or a flexi lead. We’ll get your dog’s recall as reliable as possible no matter where, when or why. The programme runs for 4 weeks, one 60-minute session per week. Certificates are awarded upon completion. This programme will always be conducted on a 1 on 1 basis.

Phase 2 Training Programmes

The VP Advanced Communication Programme (16 Weeks+) - This programme is a continuation of the phase 1 communication programme; therefore, you will need to complete that before entering this programme. In the Advanced programme we will look to progress the skills we developed even further, testing them in more challenging situations than ever before. Our aim here is simple, to be able to perform anything, anywhere at any time. Now there will be obvious limits, after all dogs can’t fly, sing or play musical instruments. But they can heel around crowds, wait patiently whilst we chat with strangers and be off lead around multiple distractions. The programme runs for 6 weeks, one 60-minute session per week. Certificates are awarded upon completion. The programme may be conducted in a class format or on a 1 to 1 basis, depending on your preference.
