The game starts by following the dog around as it navigates the world, waiting for the dog to hit the end of the lead. The second it does you freeze, wait for the dog to release the tension, mark with a “yes” and reward with 5-10 seconds of ‘treat chase game’. Restart the game with ‘ok’. Every minute or 2 you will also press and hold the stopper and wait for the dog to turn off the tension, mark with “yes”, 5-10 seconds of ‘treat chase game’ and “ok” to restart. After your first week of doing this, you should be seeing an enthusiastic response from your dog every time it feels the prompts on the collar. We can now start delaying the reward marker until the dog finds the ‘side’ position. Progression is now to delay your reward marker for longer durations while dog is in ‘side’.

Loose Lead Game Phase 1

You should now have a dog that will come to your side whenever feel movement through the collar and stay there for a few of seconds while continuing to move forward. So now we are going to formalize the game.

✓ Game starts with ‘ready’.

✓ Cue is given - ‘side’ - Now Round 1 begins.

✓ We will try to ‘ditch’ the dog (only moving in straight lines & stopping).

✓ If dog avoids collar tap for duration of round – Jackpot.

✓ If dog gets tapped, round ends, 1 piece of food given.

✓ Start round duration around 10-30 seconds.

✓ Play for a few rounds before ending game with ‘ok’ (we can also take a mid-game break this way).

✓ Progression is making rounds longer & ‘bubble’ smaller.
